Dear Comrades of the League of Young Communists USA (LYCUSA),
At the outset we would like to extend warm revolutionary greetings and congratulations for successfully holding the 2nd Congress of your organisation. Your Congress is happening at a time when there is a rise of authoritarian and fascist regimes across the globe. Decades of neo-liberalism has devastated the lives and livelihoods of millions. At such a juncture it is important that there is renewed solidarity among those who are committed to a just future for the entire globe.
We in India have been involved in a protracted struggle over the last eight years against the Hindu Right wing government of Narendra Modi which has imprisoned dozens of student and youth activists. It has systematically handed over public resources and assets to crony capitalists. RYA has been relentlessly mobilizing youth in India for movements for dignified employment, social justice, freedom of expression and democracy.
We hope the deliberations and proceedings of the Congress will strengthen your organisation and the various struggles it is leading and participating in.
