Inspiring Young Communists

The model young Communist is a student and a builder. Not in the narrow sense, but as a builder of themselves, their comrades, and their movement.
They combine the discipline and creativity of the Soviet youth with the technical mastery of modern society. They are not nostalgic; they are forward-looking.

The Communist youth take from the Soviet experience the discipline of collective life: punctuality, order, study, physical and moral self-control, and an appreciation for cultural, linguistic and ethnic diversity. From the American experience, they take efficiency, ingenuity, and practical skill, and directed toward collective goals. And with Marxism-Leninism, they have the scientific worldview and tools that allow youth to decipher what is good and useful and what is not.

They are curious. Youth learn not only Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Stalin, but also engineering, computer science, logistics, natural sciences, and social psychology. Communists of the future must be able to organize both minds and machines. Model young Communists see in every field of knowledge a weapon for humanity’s emancipation.

The Communist Ethic and Way of Life

Communist morality begins where individualism ends. The model young Communist understands that personal conduct, study habits, and discipline are not “private matters.” These form the foundation of one’s reliability as a comrade.

Young Communists rise early, study daily, work diligently, and maintain health and fitness because the Party requires strong minds and bodies. Young Communists live cleanly, not out of puritanism, but because indulgence and waste deter discipline. Young Communists practice comradeship not just sentimental friendship, but solidarity built on shared struggle and accountability.

Young Communists do not flee discomfort or conflict. When they encounter an obstacle in life, young Communists investigate the root cause and ways to transform it. Young Communists do not create bubbles of comfort; they break them.

They understand that the working class is diverse, sometimes contradictory, yet full of potential. Young Communists go into workplaces, schools, neighborhoods and learn from them. Young Communists do not scorn workers for being “backward,” but help them discover their own strength through struggle and education – every worker has unbelievable untapped potential.
