Youth reject U.S. aggression against Venezuela
On January 3rd, 2026, after years of sanctions and covert attempts of destabilizing and intimidating the proud and sovereign people Venezuela, US imperialism reared its ugly face with the historic illegal bombing of civilian targets and the kidnapping of democratically-elected president Nicolas Maduro.
Nations and youth groups all over the world and in the region have condemned the attack and kidnapping and have called for an immediate response from the international community to prevent an already extremely delicate situation from further escalating and potentially destabilizing the region further politically, economically, and socially.
Now is not the moment for the United Nations to cower under pressure from the USA and its imperialist lackeys. Now is the moment for the UN to be bold and live up to its historical objective set up in 1945 by the Soviet Union and other anti-fascist nations to prevent blatant illegal aggression like the current attack against Venezuela. Has the UN forgotten the conditions it was born under and the failure of its predecessor The League of Nations to prevent the fascist monstrosity that was called World War 2? We said, “Never Again” and this moment in history is the test of whether we will live up to those solemn words.
This is a scary and precarious situation set before all humanity. These are the times when we must show our resolve and not fall into pessimism. The anti-imperialist young people of the world must raise their voices loud and firm for the Venezuelan people in their dire moment of survival. We owe it to hundreds of millions of progressive youth throughout the world who continue to bravely struggle against the hegemony of US imperialism.
